Departure Early Morning .

You will be collected from the hotel and transferred to train station. The comfortable tourist train will take you to the small town of Aquas Calientes from where busses leave to the ruins (+/- 20 min). A guided tour through the ruins of about two and a half hours followed with an opportunity for lunch (not included). Some more time to explore the ruins and then back by bus and train to Cuzco where you will be transferred to your hotel.

There are several trains to Machu Picchu, but since 2009 the trains leave from  Poroy and not from Cuzco. Poroy is a very small village about 12 kilometer outside Cuzco.

There are daily 2 Vistadome trains from Poroy to Machu Picchu and there is one daily Expedition train. The first Vistadome train leaves at 07.35 and arrives at Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo) at 10.50. The second Vistadome train leaves at 08.25 and arrives at 12.10. The Expedition train leaves daily at 06.40 and arrives at Aguas Calientes at 09.50.

The first Vistadome train returns from Aguas Calientes at 16.40 and arrives in Poroy at 20.23 while the second Vistadome train returns at 17.20 and arrives in Poroy at 20.50. The expedition train leaves from Aguas Calientes at 15.20 and arrives in Poroy at 19.05.

The Expedition train is slightly less comfortable and therefor slightly cheaper. It is possible to take a combination of the trains mentioned above so one could go to Machu Picchu in the Expedition train and return in the Vistadome or the other way around.

For the people who would like to splash out and travel in great luxury there is the Hiram Bingham Express. This train leaves on most days from Poroy at 09.05 and arrives in Aguas Calientes at 12.25. It returns from Aguas Calientes at 17.50 and arrivies in Poroy at 21.15.

Duration: 09.00 – 15.00

We will pick you up from your hotel at 9.00 to drive you to the Urubamba river. According to the month of the year we either start the rafting near Ollantaytambo or near Pisac. The actual rafting takes about 2 hours and is great fun. After a box lunch near the river we drive you back to Cusco where you arrive at about 15.00.

Duration: All day

You will be picked up from your hotel at about 9.30 to go to a farm about 30 minutes outside Cusco. Here the horses are waiting for you to take you into the country side. The terrain is quite rough and the views are stunning. We will stop several times for a break but all together you will be with the horse for about 4 hours and the trip ends near the ruins of Qenqo. This trip is great fun even for people who have never been on a horse before.

The surrounding area of Cuzco is great  for some serious trekking and other hikes. For more information about hiking please click here..
